Fast pace population growth, increasing standards of life and economic development leading to rapid consumption of non-renewable fossil fuels needs to address the intriguing issues and provide amicable solutions associated with environmental and energy problems. Paucity of the energy resources in Japan have led to the development of advanced technologies for renewable energy resources and effective energy utilization. This has paved the way for sustained economic growth along with quality assurance establishing “Made in Japan” brand and Japan is currently a world leader for the advanced and eco-friendly technologies.

G2E2 Course provides cooperative learning opportunities between Japanese and foreign students, and provide advanced education and research on environmental and energy-related problems existing in our modern society, which demands for the realization of green, clean, and sustainable growth. It also aims to nurture global leaders, who can not only become a bridge between techno-scientific societies of Japan and abroad but also actively play their role towards providing amicable solutions for various issues related to the energy and environment. Education and research on green electronics that overcomes environmental and energy-related problems will contribute to peaceful, safe, and secure societies along with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research area of the G2E2 Course covers eco-friendly printable photovoltaic cells, functional materials and their electrochemical device, organic electronic devices, highly efficient and flexible energy-conversion motor-drive system, next-generation power semiconductor devices and their applications to high-power conversion system, and renewable energy resources.
