Bone-bonding Organic-inorganic Nanohybrids
Natural bone is a kind of organic-inorganic hybrid composed of inorganic hydroxyapatite and organic collagen fiber. If inorganic components which achieve bone-bonding ability and organic polymers are combined at nanometer level, novel bone-repairing materials with not only biocompatibility but also mechanical performances highly analogous to the bone can be developed.
